NAGAYAMA KŌIN (1765 — 1849) A Pair of Ducks, Magamo Edo period, 18th/19th century A Japanese hanging scroll painting, kakejiku , ink and colour on silk, depicting a pair of mallards on a rock at the edge of a pond, above them a tit hiding in overhanging wine leaves, signed Kōin, sealed Nagayama/ Shinryō, contained in a wood box. Image 116.5cm x 42cm; total 196cm x 47cm (3) Provenance: the Claudio Perino Collection, Turin, acquired mostly in Japan in early 2000s.
