KISHI GANKU (1749 — 1839) Dragon; Tiger Edo period, 18th/19th Century A pair of Japanese hanging scroll paintings, kakejiku , ink on silk, depicting a prowling big cat with head turned to the left and a dragon with a open mouth among a whirl of waves and vapour, each signed Ganku , sealed Ganku/Fuzen , each contained in a wood box. Image 100cm x 41.3cm; total 185.5cm x 54cm (6) Provenance: the Claudio Perino Collection, Turin, acquired mostly in Japan in early 2000s.
