A JAPANESE THREE-CASE INRO BY HIDARI ISSAN (1804 — 1857) AND A TWO-CASE BELL-SHAPED INRO
Edo period, 19th century
The first carved with mountain dwellings among pine trees, signed
Issan
to the base, the second in form of a temple bell with a dragon among wisps of smoke coiled around the body of the bell.

Provenance: the Claudio Perino Collection, Turin, both purchased from
Sotheby's, London in early 2000s.
