A Chinese Scroll Painting by Ren Renfa (450 x 34cm) Ren Renfa (1254-1327), also known as Ziming, Ziyao, and Yueshan, was a painter and water conservancy expert of the Yuan Dynasty in China. He was born in Qinglong Town, Songjiang (now Jiuqingpu District, Shanghai).
In the third year of the Xianchun reign of the Song Dynasty (1267 AD), Ren Renfa passed the imperial examination and entered the Yuan Dynasty. He was appointed as the deputy commander of Shuiyongtian and devoted himself to studying water conservancy and diligently managing rivers. Appointed as the Deputy Envoy for Pacification in Eastern Zhejiang. After resigning from his official position, he built the "Lanhui Pavilion" and "Laiqing Tower" on the Qinglong River to support him in his old age. Ren Renfa works calligraphy and learns from Li Yong. He is skilled in drawing figures, flowers, and birds, especially horses, and claims to learn from Han Gan. According to the imperial decree, there are paintings of "Wawa Tianma Tu" and "Xichun Horse Tu". After completing the painting, it is often stamped with the seals of "Ren Zi Ming Dynasty" and "Yue Shan Taoist". His works include "Zhang Guo Meets the Emperor of Ming", "Two Horses", "Autumn Water Duckweed", and so on. He wrote 'Water Conservancy Discussion and Answer'.
