A JAPANESE SIX-CASE BLACK LACQUER INRO BY JOKASAI Edo / Meiji period, 19th century Decorated in takamaki-e and nashiji with a scene of a mother and a toddler bathing in a large wood tub, the reverse with a housemaid topping up their bath water, together with an antler netsuke carved as a frog on a lotus leaf signed Yoshinaga. 12cm x 5cm Provenance: the Claudio Perino Collection, Turin, acquired mostly in Japan in early 2000s. This lot has been imported from outside the UK for sale and placed under the Temporary Admission (TA) regime. Import VAT is payable at 5% on the hammer price.
