KINOSHITA ŌJU (1777 — 1815) Koi carp and a Tortoise Edo period, 18th/19th Century A Japanese hanging scroll painting, kakejiku , ink on silk, depicting three large koi carp observed by two tortoises from the rocky shore, signed Ōju and sealed Ōju to the lower right, contained in a box. Image 98.2cm x 44.9cm; total 176cm x 47cm Provenance: the Claudio Perino Collection, Turin, acquired mostly in Japan in early 2000s.
