A CARVED JAPANESE WOODBLOCK AND TWO PRINTS
19th / 20th century
Comprising a mountain cherry woodblock carved with the design by Katsushika Hokusai (1760 — 1849) titled
Fuji from Kanawa on the Tōkaidō
from the series 'Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji', together with a print of an outline from the same woodblock and a finished print.
The block 24.3cm x 38.3cm, the prints 26.2cm x 39cm (3)
Provenance: the Claudio Perino Collection, Turin, acquired mostly in Japan in early 2000s.
Exhibited: MAO Museo d'Arte Orientale, Turin.
