清道光 粉彩巨型水滸傳人物圖夔龍耳大瓶 The vase is elaborately decorated with scenes from the story of The Water Margin, one side illustrating an outdoor battle scene and the other side depicting characters meeting in the hall of Zhongyi (Loyalty and Righteousness). Many of the characters can be identified by the inscriptions next to them, such as Shi Yong, Ma Lin, Mu Hong, Shi En, etc. The waisted neck flanked by pair of kui-dragon shaped handles. The mouth flares outwards, the interior covered in turquoise green enamel, the base unglazed. Qing Dynasty Daoguang period, first half of 19th century. Height: 48 3/4 in (123.8 cm) Width: 16 1/2 in (41.9 cm) Provenance: Property from a family collection, Southern California, acquired by the present owner's father from a East Coast private collection circa 1999
