C.T. Loo remains one of the most influential collectors and dealers of early 20th-century Chinese art, active from the 1910s to the 1940s. He played a pivotal role in assembling important Chinese art collections for prominent figures such as the Morgans and the Rockefellers, while also supplying masterpieces to leading museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. This magnificent stone lion stands as a testament to Loo’s discerning eye and impeccable taste in Chinese art.
